Wuxi Tourism Big Data Report Take You Back to The Golden Week

The year 2018 marks the 20th anniversary the “Golden Week Holiday” of China’s National Day. With the upsurging number of tourists, roads are increasingly crammed with vehicles and photos crowded with visitors. Wuxi Travel Bureau released an eyecatching data report in regard to this exuberant, sunny golden week.

During the holiday, Wuxi, with its beautiful weather, attracted a total of 7.88 million persontimes of domestic and foreign tourists, up 8.9 percent compared to last year. The city’s tourism revenue reached 8.639 billion yuan, an increase of 14.6 percent year-on-year. Under a well-ordered tourist market, Wuxi is filled with festive and joyful atmosphere.

Tourism-generating Region

Tourists visiting the city during the holiday mostly came from the following places: Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui, Shandong, Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan, Sichuan and Hebei.

Categorization of Travel Modes

Of tourists visiting Wuxi: 11.47 percent came by travel agencies, 28.98 percent came by themselves, 10.66 percent came by nontravel agency organizations (groups more than 8 people), and 48.89 percent came with families or friends.

Classification of Interests

The top 10 travel resources appeal to tourists most are: landscapes, cultural relics, ancient towns, folk customs, culture and art, classical gardens, food and snacks, theme parks and tourism shopping.

Both supply and demand are flourishing regarding tourism consumption. A series of theme activities launched by scenic spots have became highlights, attracting large numbers of tourists. During the holiday, the average number of attractions per tourist visited was 2.2 according to sample survey. The number of people swarming into the city’s scenic areas continued to rise, mounting a total of 9.1105 million person-times, an increase of 1.76 percent compared to last year and the total ticket revenue was 86.6976 million yuan, a year-on-year growth of 16.4 percent.

Judging from the tourism products released by the city’s scenic spots, tourism structure improved both in quantity and quality. Collection of tourist routes, promotion of tourism products, handbook on selfguided tours, etc. all demonstrated the idea of crossregion string connection. Every sector of the tourism industry coordinated harmoniously, indicating Wuxi’s tourism quality and generalization is advancing in depth.
