Wuxi villages win provincial recognition for rural tourism

Two villages in Yixing, a county-level city of Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, recently made the province's 2023 list of key rural tourism villages, according to the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

Qianyuan village

Bordering two other provinces – Zhejiang and Anhui, Qianyuan village boasts green mountains and limpid rivers with nearly 10,000 mu (666.67 hectares) of bamboo forest and 2,000 mu of tea gardens.

Qianyuan also has complete infrastructure facilities as it has built an exhibition hall for bamboo culture and a tourist information center and has a number of boutique homestays.

This year, the village received more than 50,000 tourists per month and added five high-end homestays.

Longchi village is situated in the mountainous area of southern Yixing with 80 percent of its land covered with forest. The village houses the Jiangsu Longchi Mountain Nature Reserve, Longchi Mountain Bike Park, and scenic Yaohu Small Town.

With complete tourist facilities, Longchi has improved its profile by hosting sports events and activities at local attractions.
