Visitors to Jiangyin can now explore the opulent world of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) princes at the Jiangyin Museum in Jiangyin, a county-level city of Wuxi.
An exhibition focusing on the gold and silver treasures of Ming Dynasty princes will run until Jan 5, 2027, in the Painting and Calligraphy Hall on the museum's second floor.

Jointly presented by the Jiangyin Museum and the Qichun County Museum in Hubei province, the show features 154 artifacts and sets unearthed from tombs of Ming Dynasty princes of Jing.
The Jing princedom, based in Hubei, lasted 10 generations. About 93 percent of the exhibits are graded cultural relics, including 27 first-class items. They include royal ritual vessels, crown ornaments, hairpins and daily utensils, reflecting strict princely etiquette and exceptional craftsmanship.

The exhibition is divided into three sections, exploring court authority through items such as a gold hairpin with a jeweled dragon head, daily life in the princely household, and an array of ear, finger, wrist, button and hair ornaments, revealing the imperial clan's aesthetics and ceremonial identity.
A highlight is a stamp-collecting activity in which visitors can pick up themed seals at the entrance and follow them through the galleries, making the experience more interactive, especially for families.
