Two popular tourist attractions in Wuxi were recently included in the top 20 recommended scenic areas for admiring flowers in spring 2022 by the Jiangsu Provincial Cultural and Tourism Bureau – namely the Yuantouzhu scenic area, or Turtle Head Isle, and the Fantian Flower Sea of the Nianhuawan scenic area.

Yuantouzhu, located northwest of Taihu Lake in Wuxi, is famous for its vast expanse of cherry blossoms and attracts many tourists every year. March and April are the best time to visit Yuantouzhu.

During this period, at least 70 types of cherry flowers are in full bloom, covering an area of 0.65 square kilometers. Cherry Blossom Valley and Changchun Bridge are the best places for scenic views. One can walk on the path under the trees, take a boat on Taihu Lake, or climb to the mountaintop to get a bird's-eye view of the pink and white flowers.

The Fantian Flower Sea of the Nianhuawan scenic area features over 10 kinds of spring flowers, including the cherry flower, corn poppy, snapdragon, vervain and coreopsis.

Visitors can enjoy the flower blossoms from March to May. In late March, hundreds of cherry trees bloom at Zhiyue Lane and Luming Alley inside the scenic area, turning it into a sea of pink and white.
