Traditional Chinese paintings on display at Wuxi Museum

Sixty-five traditional Chinese paintings by six Chinese painters and their students are on display at the Wuxi Museum in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, from Nov 26 to Feb 26, 2023.
The exhibition was sponsored by the Chinese National Academy of Arts and Wuxi Municipal Government and organized by the Wuxi municipal bureau of culture, broadcasting and tourism, Wuxi Art Museum, and Wuxi Museum.

Wuxi boasts a long history of calligraphy and paintings and in recent years, the city has rolled out a series of exhibitions to promote such arts and strengthen its cultural confidence, according to Jiang Yunjie, director of the Wuxi municipal bureau of culture, broadcasting and tourism, at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

Jiang expressed her desire to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese National Academy of Arts in the future.
Zhou Qingfu, head of the Chinese National Academy of Arts, said in a video that he expects Chinese artists to inherit the core spirit of traditional Chinese paintings and make innovations.

Zhang Jian, curator of the exhibition, said he hopes the exhibition will familiarize audiences with the latest creations of Chinese artists.
