Two running routes in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, were recently listed among the most beautiful in Jiangsu in 2022.

The two routes are the Wuxi Wanshan Lake ecological footpath and the route around Daxigang wetland in Xinwu district.

The 311-hectare Wanshan Lake Wetland Park is the first provincial wetland park in Xishan district and boasts a healthy natural environment and scenic landscapes.

The wetland park hosts numerous activities each spring, including a pear blossom festival and Wanshan Lake International Marathon, to showcase its beautiful environment.

The ecological footpath is paved around Wanshan Lake and extends two kilometers. When the weather becomes warm and the first buds appear in the spring, be sure to walk among the vast stretches of rape flowers in the wetland park.

Another route includes a 13-km cycling route featuring cherry blossoms, a 5-km mini marathon route, and a 3-km fitness route.

Connecting Xinwu district with Taihu Lake, the Daxigang wetland route is great for an after-dinner walk.

Many Wuxi locals like to admire the cherry blossoms in Daxigang Wetland Park in spring. The wetland park is also a bird paradise, home to more than 100 species of wild birds, including Chinese egrets and curly-feathered pelicans.
