Longtou Islet Park, or Longtouzhu Park, in Binhu district, Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, started trial operations on April 15 after a one-year renovation, local media outlets reported on April 19.

Longtou Islet, or Dragon's Head Islet, is a peninsula formed by a portion of Dachu Mountain that extends into Taihu Lake. The extension looks like a dragon lying in the water; hence the name.

The renovation divides the scenic spot into five zones featuring peach blossoms, meandering lanes, and lakeside scenery. The park now also boasts improved supporting facilities, smart services, and more entertainment facilities.

Xiqing Residence in the park was the retreat of Qian Xiqing, a literati in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) who lived in seclusion. The residence is a combination of traditional Chinese dwellings and gardens and was built in the typical style of the Ming Dynasty.

The renovated residence still looks quiet and elegant and is a perfect place for busy city dwellers to escape from bustling daily life and enjoy a laidback life for a while.

Longdao Lane is another must-see spot in the park. Here, one can admire vast stretches of greenery and lakeside scenery and discover numerous small scenic spots along the lane.

During the trial operation, visitors can enjoy half-price tickets, that is, 12 yuan ($1.74) per person.

Address: No 108 Huanshanxi Rd, Binhu district
