The harvest season for Mashan waxberries, Dafu green plums and Yangshan honey beaches, the three renowned fruits of Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, is around the corner.

You definitely do not want to miss out on these sweet fruits!

In early June, Mashan subdistrict is permeated with a sweet and sour smell as the waxberries are fully ripe. Mashan-grown waxberries are juicy and plump with a faint fragrance.

The subdistrict is home to more than 12,000 mu (800 hectares) of waxberry orchards with a combined yield of over 6,000 metric tons per year. In 2020, the Mashan waxberry was designated as a national agricultural product of geographical indication.

Usually ripe in late May, Dafu green plums in Binhu district of Wuxi feature a yellow and reddish color, juicy taste and a smell of maturing wine.

Binhu district has grown plum trees for more than 2,500 years and its Dafu green plums have been called the "green gems of Taihu Lake".

Last but not least are the Yangshan honey peaches. Words such as juicy, sweet, and fragrant are not enough to describe the tasty fruit and in early June they alone can satisfy foodies' taste buds.

There's no better way to enjoy a Yangshan honey peach than to drink it! It's so simple. Just gently rub the ripe fruit before you stick a straw into it.
