The 2023 Wuxi Art Festival came to a close as the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra kicked off its 2023-2024 music season at the Wuxi Grand Theater in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Sept 9.

The two-month festival offered 45 theater plays and 59 other performances including musicals, dramas, operas, folk music, and concerts, attracting an audience of more than 300,000.

During the festival the Wuxi Xiju Opera Theater offered the Xiju Opera Road of Juansheng, Cai Fengyi, the classic Xiju Opera Pearl Pagoda, and Red Bean, the first small-theater Xiju Opera performed in China

The opening day of the Wuxi Grand Theater at the launch ceremony of the festival also attracted numerous local residents who enjoyed the art performances, learned some dances, tried handiworks, and tasted new delicacies.
