Wuxi orchestra to set off for Chinese Culture Month in Laos

The Chinese Orchestra of Wuxi in Jiangsu province will visit Laos to participate in the Happy Chinese New Year Chinese Culture Month, which will commence on Jan 29, local media outlets reported on Jan 26.

At the invitation of the China Cultural Center in Laos and the Network of International Culturalink Entities, the Wuxi orchestra is expected to deliver two Spring Festival-themed concerts at the China Cultural Center in Laos and Vientane Center respectively during the event.

The orchestra will perform music involving an ensemble of traditional Chinese instruments, including a bamboo flute and guzheng and erhu solos, to create a festive vibe and Jiangnan-style atmosphere.
Established in 2020, the Chinese Orchestra of Wuxi aims to preserve and promote musical art forms in the city. Since its establishment, the orchestra has offered more than 100 performances and debuted original pieces such as The Second Erhu Concerto – Taihu Lake Scenery and Liangxi Music Poem.
