Chinese Orchestra of Wuxi charms audience in Laos

The Chinese Orchestra of Wuxi in Jiangsu province delivered two concerts during the Happy Chinese New Year Chinese Culture Month, which commenced on Jan 29 in Laos.

On the opening day, the Wuxi orchestra performed at the China Cultural Center in Laos to mark the start of the month-long event, playing classic Jiangnan-style music such as the erhu solo South Jiangsu Tune.
The orchestra also performed at the Vientane Center, the most prosperous shopping area in Vientiane, on Jan 30, attracting hundreds of people. The concert concluded with a Lao song as an encore, receiving an enthusiastic applause from the captivated audience.

Established in 2020, the Chinese Orchestra of Wuxi aims to preserve and promote musical art forms in the city. Since its establishment, the orchestra has offered more than 100 performances and debuted original pieces such as The Second Erhu Concerto – Taihu Lake Scenery and Liangxi Music Poem.
