A grand symphony concert took place at the Dongfeng Aerospace City Auditorium within the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China on Sept 8.

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra teamed up with the Inner Mongolia Art Theater Symphony Orchestra.

The two art troupes invited a choir comprising talented scientific and technological professionals from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center to present an artistic feast together, celebrating the dedication and hard work of aerospace workers and their families, who have devoted themselves to their work.

The concert commenced with an inspiring and dynamic performance of the March of Salvation, a piece renowned for its stirring melody and progressive structure. The evening reached its crescendo with a distinguished selection of three movements from the acclaimed symphonic suite Feitian, translated as Fly Up Into the Sky in English. The suite was composed by Wuxi Symphony Orchestra's music director, Li Shaosheng. The chosen movements, Feitian, Xuntian, and Tianxingjian, captivated the audience with their complexity and expressive power.

The symphonic suite Feitian honors China's aerospace achievements by blending ethnic motifs with contemporary symphonic elements. It narrates the incredible journey of China's centuries-old dream of flight, celebrating the dedication, resilience, and pursuit of excellence of the aerospace community across generations.

The concert reached its peak with a lively performance of the chorus Ode to the Motherland, bringing this significant concert to a successful conclusion.
