The classic Xiju Opera The Pearl Tower by the Wuxi Xiju Opera Theatre in Jiangsu province was recently performed at Peking University in Beijing, capital of China.

This follows the first introduction of the Xiju Opera play Red Bean to the campus last year, marking the theater's return to bring another masterpiece to Peking University students and faculty.

With its exquisite artistic value and lasting appeal, The Pearl Tower once again captivated the audience during the performance.

As the curtain slowly fell, the audience stayed captivated by the emotional storyline. The applause was loud and extended, with students from Peking University expressing their deep admiration for the performers on stage.

This performance marks another significant step in the Wuxi Xiju Opera Theatre's ongoing effort to introduce Xiju Opera to universities. In recent years, the theater has toured top universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Zhejiang University, as well as many other well-known universities within Jiangsu, successfully building a large audience of young viewers.

From the initial amazement with Red Bean last year to the deep connection with The Pearl Tower this year, the journey of Xiju Opera entering universities has completed a cultural exchange across time and space through its artistic charm.
