The scenic spots and cultural venues in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, were pulsing with activity and teeming with visitors during the New Year holiday, which ended on Jan 3.

Throughout the holiday, the city organized over 300 events and introduced 10 initiatives to stimulate consumption. These included trade-in promotions, music events, shopping vouchers, and discounts at tourist attractions.

On New Year's Eve, Erquan Square was buzzing with excitement as a grand countdown event took place beneath the historic bell tower, with tens of thousands of people gathering to welcome the New Year together.

On the evening of Jan 1, the Wuxi Symphony Hall came alive with the sound of music as the Wuxi Symphony Orchestra's New Year concert began. This performance marked both the opening of the hall and a celebration of the New Year.

At the Three Kingdoms and Water Margin Theme Park, more than 100 immersive performances were presented in succession. Visitors at Yuantouzhu Scenic Area enjoyed playful interactions with black-headed gulls. The Plum Garden hosted cultural performances that spread the joyful holiday spirit to all. In Huishan Ancient Town, every step in Yingyueli Block unveiled picturesque scenes.

Wuxi's cultural venues also curated artistic programs. The Wuxi Library, for instance, held reading activities, a special literature exhibition, and an exhibition showcasing images of works by renowned Chinese calligraphers. Donglin Academy hosted a garden party where citizens and tourists strolled through courtyards, explored markets, and selected elegant items.
