The Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism recently announced the results of its provincial-level evaluation of tourism resorts, with six resorts in Wuxi receiving excellent ratings.
The Wuxi Taihu National Tourist Resort, centered around Lingshan Mountain Scenic Area and Nianhuawan Bay, is a comprehensive tourism destination. The undulating mountain roads and expansive, long embankments, combined with the longstanding tradition of professional events such as the Taihu Lake International Road Cycling Race, have laid a solid foundation for the continued upward trajectory of cycling culture.
The core area of the Yixing Yangxian Eco-tourism Resort boasts a forest coverage rate of 82 percent, with mountains and waters intertwined, and tea and bamboo coexisting. It features 17 unique attractions, earning the title of "China's natural oxygen bar". The area currently hosts 37 high-quality themed resort hotels and over 450 unique lodgings, with nearly 10,000 rooms and more than 16,000 beds available.
The Wuxi Taihu Shanshui City Tourism Resort covers 72 square kilometers in the southwest of Wuxi. Junzhang Mountain runs north to south, with lush undulating peaks, fragrant tea, and wholesome fruit, not to mention scattered historical sites and ancient villages, making it a leisure tourism destination where natural beauty and cultural heritage harmoniously intermingle.
The Wuxi Jiangnan Ancient Canal Tourist Resort is part of the Grand Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is known for its "most pristine canal scenery". The 1.6-kilometer prime segment of the ancient canal from Nanchang Bridge to the Qingming Bridge is hailed as the "water alley of Jiangnan, a unique area of the Grand Canal".
The Wuxi Yangshan Ecological Leisure Tourism Resort is located in Yangshan town, with an overall greening rate of 80 percent, making it Wuxi's green gem. Yangshan leverages its resources of "ancient volcanoes, vast peach orchards, millennia-old temples, and century-old academies" to create a quintessentially poetic Jiangnan rural landscape.
The Cuipingshan Tourist Resort, centered around Jiuli River, is interconnected by the natural water systems of Chunfeng River and Zoumatang River, with a forest coverage rate exceeding 55 percent. It also preserves cultural relics such as the ancient Jiaoshan Temple, Douru Spring, and Xilin Garden.
