Tourism officials and travel industry representatives from Wuxi and Malaysia met in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on Oct 16 to discuss ways to expand inbound travel and two-way tourism cooperation.
The meeting at Yuantouzhu Scenic Area brought together the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, the Malaysia-China Tourism and Culture Promotion Chamber and major Malaysian travel agencies, as well as Wuxi's culture and tourism authorities, local tourism groups, and online travel platform Qunar.
Discussions focused on inbound tourism products, visitor exchanges, marketing and service improvements. The meeting aimed to build a solid link for sharing tourism resources and sending visitors in both directions. Representatives also shared their tourism resources and market strengths.

Tourism ties have grown this year. A direct Wuxi-Kuala Lumpur flight opened in March, and the two sides held preliminary talks in April on visitor exchanges. By the end of August, overnight visitors from Malaysia to Wuxi exceeded 18,000, up 12.87 percent year-on-year, making Malaysia one of Wuxi's core inbound source markets.
In September, Jiangsu introduced 10 measures to boost inbound tourism consumption, listing Malaysia among six key source countries and Wuxi as one of four key inbound tourism cities.
Wuxi said it will continue to develop inbound tourism products, improve services for international visitors and deepen tourism exchanges with Malaysia and other countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
