Jiangsu's main venue for Intl Museum Day lands in Wuxi

The 2026 International Museum Day main event for Jiangsu province is scheduled to take place at the Wuxi Museum on May 15, according to the press conference held by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism on May 8.
Four key activities are planned for the main venue: an opening ceremony, a premiere exhibition, a sharing session and a Museum Night event.
The second season of the provincial exhibition tour is poised to make its debut at the Wuxi Museum. This exhibition is expected to bring together precious cultural relics and digital resources from museums across the province, highlighting the Grand Canal and Yangtze River cultures, as well as Jiangsu's regional civilization. Spanning from May 2026 to August 2027, the tour will visit all of the 13 cities in the province.

On May 15, a sharing session focused on the future of museums in the digital age will be held at the Wuxi Museum. Experts and scholars will share practical experiences and innovative ideas on the digital transformation of museums, covering exhibition display, educational outreach, management services, and preservation and utilization.
On May 14, the Museum Night event will be hosted at the China Clay Figure Museum and Yingyueli Block, featuring opera performances, educational activities, intangible cultural heritage experiences and light shows.
Under the theme "Museums Uniting a Divided World", Jiangsu is set to launch nearly 200 special activities across the province, including 62 exhibitions, 98 educational and social activities, 15 cultural and creative display events and 21 night tour performances to celebrate the 2026 International Museum Day.
